London Violinist, Viola Player & Arranger For Hire

If anyone ever wanted an entertaining fiddle or violin player they should use Martin Ash. An excellent performer that you can’t take your eyes off.

Martin is a highly talented violin player in all kinds of genres. He began playing as the Kindred Spirit Band’s main violin player in March 2016, which requires him to play the role normally taken by the electric guitar player (with overdriven rock solos), as well as folk, Irish and some classical styles. He is extremely hard working, capable and knowledgeable, a pleasure to work with, being both constructive, friendly and enthusiastic, as well as a real character when performing on stage, which the audience loves!
Elaine Samuels, songwriter-singer-guitarist and leader of Kindred Spirit

Martin has been my go-to strings player for many years now. I’ve hired him as a soloist and as an ensemble player, for orchestra pits in musicals and theatre productions as well as film score recording sessions, and every time he’s proved himself to be a consummate professional, hugely talented, and a real pleasure to work with. He’s always keen to go the extra mile in getting the perfect performance and I shall definitely be contacting him next time I’m in need of a violinist/violist/guitarist.
David Allen, composer, MD, organist

A great evening’s music – marvellous principals, chorus and orchestra and Donizetti at his finest.

Martin led the orchestra very skilfully when we performed Verdi’s Giovanna d’Arco together last year. As well as being knowledgeable and approachable, he is notably empathetic toward the needs of everyone involved – orchestra, soloists and conductor alike. I look forward to working with him as leader again when we produce Donizetti’s Anna Bolena later this year.
Frederick Platt, conductor

I played with Martin at a gig where he’d arranged a piece for strings and was playing the viola. He is a person with many skills, a true professional and a very pleasant person to be around! I would recommend him for anyone needing a versatile musician or arranger.
Maria Kroon, classical & folk violinist

Songwriters, producers and musician types of the UK – should you find yourself needing violin or viola played to a very high standard, you should book my mate Martin Ash.

Just wanted to say thank you for coming all the way to Peckham to audition. We thought you were really great especially given there was a lot you didn’t know that we lumped you into.
